The Weekend Academy works in partnership with groups, schools and colleges, and artists. We develop our projects and activities together with partners.
We work with our partners to prepare a budget and project outline and to discuss applications to appropriate sources of funding.
We can support bids for Aim Higher funding.
We can develop joint projects with schools, colleges, and community groups to apply for funding for a substantial project or series of sessions.
Please contact us for an initial discussion of your interests and ideas.
Opportunities for funders
The Weekend Academy offers funders an opportunity to become involved with a new and exciting project, which will bring tangible benefits to its participants. Funders support for these projects will give them the satisfaction of knowing that they have given potentially life-changing opportunities to people who participate in The Weekend Academys projects: young people of school age, disabled artists at a crucial stage in their careers, and people who have experienced exclusion.
Funders will have the opportunity to:
attend private views of art exhibitions at Byam Shaw and other venues including: exhibitions showcasing work made during artists residencies; exhibitions of work produced by The Weekend Academy participants; and the annual Byam Shaw Foundation BA, post-graduate and MA fine art exhibitions
purchase work by young and emerging artists whose careers are being supported by The Weekend Academy
hire or purchase print editions from The Weekend Academy projects made in Byam Shaws accessible print rooms
commission work, for office or home, made by groups and artists associated with The Weekend Academy
propose and support work with our target groups in whom they have a particular interest
receive full credits on all The Weekend Academy @ Byam Shaw School of Art publicity literature and publications
