The Weekend Academy has access to Byam Shaw’s fine art studios, workshops and gallery. Projects are led by visiting professional artists, including Byam Shaw staff and technicians, with Byam Shaw’s students assisting. Participants in The Weekend Academy activities use university-level technical facilities and experience high levels of support.

The Weekend Academy facilities include:

dedicated life-drawing studio

Jerwood sculpture studio and sculpture yard with metal, wood and casting workshops, and a small ceramic kiln

spacious, well-lit studio space

excellent art library

lecture theatre with DVD, film and video projection facilities

café and courtyard

print room with facilities for silkscreen, etching and intaglio (woodblock and lino), and stone lithography

Byam Shaw’s Concourse Gallery – installation and exhibition space in the heart of the building

All these facilities are wheelchair-accessible.
